Multiphase Controllers

Alpha and Omega Semiconductor offers hybrid-digital and digital multiphase controllers, which meet compliance requirements with Intel IMVP9/9.1/9.2, AMD SVI3, and AVS requirements for notebooks, desktops, graphics, servers, telecom, FPGA, and ASIC applications. Our hybrid digital controller series are the world’s first multiphase controllers that can meet Intel and AMD’s VR requirement of 10mW per rail. The hybrid digital solution can extend battery operation by up to 30 minutes for workloads such as full-screen video playback and web browsing. In addition, Alpha and Omega Semiconductor’s proprietary A²TM control provides fast transient performance and excellent phase current balance, thus reducing BOM costs. The highly flexible control architectures we provide eases the design process, providing increased flexibility, reduced transients, and improved reliability. Combined with our high performance DrMOS or SPS, designers get a complete power solution that meets their high-power, low loss requirements. Furthermore, we offer GUI software and evaluation boards available by request.
